About the role The Tool Design Engineer at Mahindra & Mahindra is where a specification becomes a real part. Your work centres on designing press tools, dies and fixtures and proving them out on the floor using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and forming simulation, and on making sure everyone downstream can build, inspect and rely on what you release. Key responsibilities • Design press tools, dies and fixtures for new and running parts • Prepare detailed tool drawings and BOMs for the tool room • Support tool trials and close the corrections they reveal • Improve tool life and reduce downtime on existing tooling • Maintain tool design standards and records • Maintain accurate technical records, reports and traceability for everything you release • Follow safety, quality and environmental standards without exception on the shop floor • Escalate problems early with data, and close them with a verified corrective action Required skills and tools • Press Tool Design • Die Design • Fixture Design • AutoCAD • SolidWorks • Strip Layout • Tool Materials • Tonnage Calculation • Tool Trials • Design for Manufacturing Eligibility criteria • Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile or Production Engineering. Candidates from any recognised university are welcome. • Graduation year: 2023–2026 batches. Freshers and final-year students awaiting results may apply. • Minimum 60% / 6.0 CGPA in the highest qualification (indicative — strong practical skills can offset this). • Experience: 0–2 years in design, manufacturing, quality, maintenance or a closely related engineering function. • Technical skills: Press Tool Design, Die Design, Fixture Design, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Strip Layout. • Soft skills: structured problem solving, attention to detail, discipline on safety and documentation, ownership, and the confidence to stop the line when something is wrong.
