The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Testing Engineer to join their team in Maneja, Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual. How you’ll make an impact

  • Led and supervise the routine testing of high-voltage circuit breakers (72.5 kV to 800 kV) ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
  • Managed Test plant operations to achieve Business Unit (BU) revenue targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Provided support in new product development, including testing validation and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate and attended customer inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and handling technical queries.
  • Responsible for maintenance of test plant equipment and execution of calibration activities to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensured safety of workmen and test equipment within the testing facility by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Addressed test plant quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence.
  • Should possess adequate knowledge and understanding of relevant national & international standards like IEC.
  • Must be able to understand different kinds of electrical schematic drawings. Should be capable of tracing the fault & solving it (both electrical as well as mechanical) by referring the documents.
  • Must have worked in the testing field and should have the know-how of the testing equipment.
  • Should have the experience of high voltage testing, partial discharge testing and routine testing of switchgear product.
  • Candidate should be able to do the electrical wiring independently in Local control cubical and able to verify basic interlocks.
  • Capable to work independently and handle the day-to-day workload.
  • Should supervise the team members and ability to deliver the output in targeted timeline.
  • Should be familiar with practices such as 5S, KAIZEN, etc.
  • Experience of co-ordination with various cross functions like production, stores, packing and marketing/planning.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Candidate should have 4 to 6 years of experience with Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in testing.
  • A Diploma / bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with first class (above 60%)
  • Candidate should have the basic knowledge of the switchgear’s product.
  • Skilled in High voltage testing, partial discharge testing, Mechanical endurance test of Switchgear product. Experience in LTB, GIS & DTB testing will be an added advantage.
  • Should have adequate knowledge of functional and interlock verification in low voltage or local control cubicle.
  • Quick learner with interest in and ability to master new technologies.
  • Good communication skill and proficiency in English and Hindi is required.
  • Knowledge of basic SAP. Sound interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM. Well versed with MS Office.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering drawing.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
