Software Development Intern at Tata Consultancy Services
Tata Consultancy Services is hiring a Software Development Intern in Mumbai for a 6-month, fully mentored internship. This is real, reviewed work on live projects — not a training sandbox or a certificate mill. About the internship You will join the product engineering team and work alongside people who do this professionally every day. From week one you own a scoped piece of work, take it through review, and see it ship. Day-to-day responsibilities • Build and ship features in an existing production codebase. • Write unit tests and fix defects found in review or QA. • Read and navigate a large codebase to trace behaviour. • Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback. • Document your work clearly so the next person can pick it up. • Take part in stand-ups, planning and review sessions with the team. Tools and technologies you will use Data Structures, Algorithms, Git, OOP, Debugging, REST APIs, SQL, Unit Testing, Agile, Problem Solving — plus the internal tooling Tata Consultancy Services uses day to day. What you will learn How production software is actually built: version control discipline, code review, testing and incremental delivery in a team. Team structure You report to a senior team member who acts as your mentor, inside a pod of 6-10 people. Weekly 1:1s track progress and a mid-internship review tells you exactly where you stand. What we expect from you Curiosity, ownership and clear communication.
