Senior Privacy Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical privacy-by-design reviews for new features and architectural changes
  • Drive compliance with global privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA
  • Evaluate and mitigate privacy risks in AI/ML systems and training data pipelines
  • Build systems for data rights and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs)
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and threat modeling
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure privacy policies reflect underlying technology
  • Design privacy-preserving analytics and measurement systems

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years focused on privacy or data protection
  • Deep understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy frameworks
  • Experience building technical controls for data governance (classification, lineage, retention)
  • Familiarity with privacy risks in ML systems
  • Experience with cryptographic techniques, anonymization, and de-identification
  • Strong ability to translate legal requirements into engineering specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies
  • Strong communication skills for partnering with legal and policy stakeholders
