Senior Manager / General Manager – Regional Distribution & Pricing

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager/General Manager – Regional Distribution & Pricing to lead transportation pricing, regional distribution, and vendor management for our Contract Logistics business. The incumbent will be responsible for driving transportation profitability, developing competitive pricing strategies, optimizing distribution networks, managing vendor partnerships, and supporting business growth through efficient logistics operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in transportation operations, contract logistics, freight pricing, and commercial negotiations, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale logistics operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement transportation pricing strategies for FTL, LTL, and parcel services to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

  • Manage the transportation P&L and drive overall profitability by monitoring revenue, costs, and gross margins.

  • Create and maintain transportation rate cards based on freight density, delivery zones, distance, and operational requirements.

  • Analyze lane-wise profitability and implement cost optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

  • Negotiate commercial agreements, freight rates, and long-term contracts with transport vendors and logistics partners.

  • Build, develop, and manage a nationwide transportation vendor network while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and service standards.

  • Design and optimize transportation routes, fleet utilization, and regional distribution networks to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Lead pricing strategy and commercial responses for transportation tenders, RFPs, and large customer bids.

  • Support the sales team by providing pricing models, commercial quotations, and market insights to win new business.

  • Monitor transportation market trends and recommend pricing improvements based on industry benchmarks and competitive analysis.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing plants, warehouses, customers, and transport partners to ensure seamless transportation operations.

  • Lead customer onboarding activities for key enterprise accounts and ensure smooth operational transitions.

  • Monitor vendor performance through defined KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop sustainable transportation solutions, including EV and CNG fleet initiatives.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams while fostering collaboration across departments.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, transportation regulations, and customer service standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (MBA/Master's preferred).

  • 15–20+ years of experience in Contract Logistics and Transportation Operations.

  • Strong expertise in FTL/LTL transportation, fleet management, and regional distribution.

  • Hands-on experience in transportation pricing, P&L management, and cost optimization.

  • Proven experience in vendor management, commercial negotiations, and carrier development.

  • Strong knowledge of freight costing, route optimization, and transportation rate cards.

  • Experience in handling transportation RFPs, tenders, and commercial pricing.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
