JOB SUMMARY

A Senior Analytics Engineer in the Analytics Engineering team will be responsible for understanding the company's data needs, designing and implementing data systems, ensuring data quality, and creating reports and visualizations to empower data-driven decision making across the organization.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Analytics Engineering team partners with stakeholders to understand data needs, designs and builds data systems, and ensures data quality. They are experts in data warehouse and processing tools, and create data marts to empower data-driven decision making across the organization. The team combines analytical skills with experience in SQL, scripting languages, and data warehousing concepts.

REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Partner with stakeholders at all levels to establish current and ongoing data support and reporting needs.

● Become an expert in the company’s data warehouse and other data storage & processing tools, understanding the definition, context, and proper use of all attributes and metrics.

● Work with the data engineering team to shape robust & real-time data systems with the right instrumentation & visualization capabilities.

● Create structured and well-documented data marts empowering data insights within the organization

● Work with data stakeholders to identify key questions and provide generalized solutions

● Manage data quality, instrumentation, and governance.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

● Experience writing production datasets in SQL/Hive OR building internal/production data tools for ETL, experimentation, or exploration in a scripting language (Python, PHP, Ruby, R etc.)

● Experience with Reporting/BI tools, data warehousing concepts and ETL development and tools.

● Familiar with digital analytics and clickstream data.

● Experience with distributed analytic processing technologies is desired (e.g. Hive).

● Extremely strong analytical orientation/bent of mind and consumer understanding.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

B.Tech/B.E/Masters/PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline. 4-7 years of experience in software engineering in Data teams, with a focus on data-intensive applications and systems.
