Key Responsibilities & Scope - California E-Filing Mastery: Independently manage and execute all electronic court filings (e-filing) within California state courts, with a robust emphasis on procedures for Solano County Superior Court. - Case Initiation and Management: Prepare and finalize all documents required for initiating collection actions, including summons, complaints, and initial discovery, ensuring strict local compliance. - Document Management: Systematically gather, organize, index, and manage all case-related documentation, evidence, and correspondence. - Deadline Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive and proactive calendar of all statutory and court-imposed deadlines, ensuring attorney awareness and timely execution of steps. - Liaison and Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external court staff regarding administrative and scheduling matters. - Drafting and Preparation: Draft routine legal correspondence, notices, discovery requests/responses, and internal memoranda for attorney review. Required Qualifications - Mandatory Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Litigation Paralegal supporting U.S. attorneys in civil litigation. - California E-Filing Proficiency (MUST-HAVE):Demonstrated, verifiable expertise in electronic court filing systems (e-filing) specific to California, including the ability to successfully navigate Solano County Superior Court local rules and procedures. - Procedural Knowledge: Deep understanding of the California Rules of Court and Civil Procedure relevant to debt collection/civil litigation. - Independence and Organization: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work entirely remotely and autonomously, managing multiple cases and priorities simultaneously. - Technical Proficiency: Expert use of legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and secure document management systems.
