QA Tester (Automation Tester) – Athena Master

As a QA Tester, you will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the Athena Master

Reference Data Platform, with a primary focus on designing and implementing automated

testing plans. You will be responsible for designing and executing rigorous testing strategies

for data pipelines, integration points, and platform functionality to ensure that master data

remains a "single source of truth" for the organisation.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to identify, document, and track defects

within the Athena ecosystem.

  • Build and maintain automated regression test suites to support continuous integration

and delivery (CI/CD) cycles.

  • Validate API endpoints and downstream data consumption points to ensure seamless

integration with peripheral systems.

  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness across upstream and

downstream systems

  • Perform schema, payload, and contract validation between producer and consumer

systems

  • Design and execute test scenarios covering positive, negative, and edge cases

Requirements

  • 4-5 years’ experience
  • 4-5 years’ experience in developing automated testing frameworks for data-centric

platforms (using Python, PyTest or Great Expectations)

  • Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis, validation, and backend

testing.

  • Proven experience in testing Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data

platforms or large-scale data warehouse environments.

  • Proven track record of implementing automated testing plans with Azure DevOps,

GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD environments

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Selenium,

or Robot Framework) and Azure DevOps/Jira for defect management.

  • Familiarity with Kafka / streaming data validation
  • Exposure to OpenSearch / Elasticsearch for data validation and querying
  • Experience with MDM platforms (Reltio preferred)
