About the Role

ACE Engineering College invites applications from accomplished industry professionals for the position of Professor of Practice. The role is intended to strengthen industry-academia collaboration by bringing extensive professional expertise into teaching, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and curriculum development. The selected candidate will mentor students and faculty, promote applied research, establish industry partnerships, and contribute to the institution's academic excellence and innovation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Excellence
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science and allied disciplines.
  • Deliver industry-oriented courses in emerging technologies.
  • Develop and revise curriculum in line with industry requirements and AICTE guidelines.
  • Introduce project-based, experiential, and outcome-based learning methodologies.
  • Conduct guest lectures, seminars, workshops, certification programs, and master classes.
Industry Collaboration
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with industries, multinational companies, startups, research organizations, and government agencies.
  • Facilitate internships, industrial visits, live projects, consultancy assignments, and collaborative research.
  • Establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in emerging technologies.
  • Promote industry-sponsored laboratories and innovation initiatives.
Research, Innovation & Intellectual Property
  • Mentor faculty and students in applied research and product development.
  • Promote patent filing, technology transfer, copyrights, and commercialization.
  • Guide innovation projects, hackathons, and prototype development.
  • Support faculty in publishing high-quality research papers and securing funded research projects.
Entrepreneurship & Startup Ecosystem
  • Mentor student startups and entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Collaborate with incubation centres, accelerators, and innovation hubs.
  • Conduct entrepreneurship awareness programs and innovation boot camps.
  • Encourage commercialization of student innovations.
Faculty Development
  • Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) on emerging technologies.
  • Mentor faculty in research, consultancy, innovation, and curriculum development.
  • Share industry best practices, tools, frameworks, and technologies.
Student Mentoring
  • Mentor students for career development, higher education, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
  • Guide capstone projects and industry-sponsored projects.
  • Support placement activities by providing insights into industry expectations and employability skills.
Institutional Development
  • Contribute to NBA, NAAC, AICTE, and NIRF quality initiatives.
  • Participate in Board of Studies (BoS), Academic Council, Research Committee, and Innovation Council.
  • Assist in curriculum revision, strategic planning, and institutional development.
  • Represent the institution in industry forums, conferences, and professional bodies.
Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  • B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. in one of the following disciplines:
  • Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning)
  • Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science)
  • Computer Science & Engineering (Internet of Things)
  • Other closely related Computer Science specializations as per AICTE/UGC norms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in senior leadership roles such as CTO, Chief Architect, Technology Leader, Innovation Leader, Product Head, Research Scientist, or Entrepreneur.
  • Strong record of patents, technology innovations, publications, products, or industrial achievements.
  • Experience in mentoring startups, innovation ecosystems, or technology incubators.
  • Prior teaching, academic mentoring, Board of Studies (BoS), advisory, or research collaboration with universities is desirable.
