About the internship:

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Participate in online lectures, workshops, and discussions on human rights.
2. Conduct research and prepare reports on assigned human rights topics.
3. Complete assignments and presentations within the internship duration.
4. Engage in virtual learning sessions and collaborative activities.
5. Follow the internship schedule and successfully complete all programme requirements.

Who can apply:

    Only those candidates can apply who:

  1. are available for the work from home job/internship
  2. are available for duration of 2 weeks
  3. have relevant skills and interests

Other Requirements:

  1. - Students in the third year or above of an integrated five-year postgraduate course.
  2. - Students in the third or final year of a bachelor's degree.
  3. - Students pursuing any semester or year of a postgraduate degree, including a three-year LL.B. programme.
  4. - Students pursuing any semester or year of a postgraduate diploma course.
  5. - Research scholars from any academic discipline.
  6. - Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in Class XII and in the first four semesters of their current programme, including the course they are presently pursuing.
  7. Selection Process
  8. - Submit a 250-word Statement of Purpose titled "Reason for Joining as - Intern in NHRC" along with the online application.
  9. Selection is based on:
  10. - Class XII marks: 30%
  11. - Graduation or current academic performance: 40%
  12. - Statement of Purpose: 30%
  13. - Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate research potential in the field of human rights.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India was established on 12 October, 1993. The statute under which it is established is the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993 as amended by the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2019. The Commission is responsible for spreading human rights awareness amongst the masses and encouraging the efforts of all stakeholders in the field of human rights literacy, not only at the national but also international level.
