Night Shift Manager

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Night Shift Manager to oversee night-shift operations at the Foxconn Chennai site. The person will be responsible for managing manpower, attendance, discipline, daily operations, reporting, and coordination with the client and internal management.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently during the night shift, handling operational issues, and ensuring smooth and uninterrupted site operations.

2. Key Responsibilities2.1 Shift Operations

  • Supervise and manage all night-shift activities at the assigned site.
  • Ensure smooth and timely completion of daily operational activities.
  • Monitor manpower deployment and ensure proper allocation of duties.
  • Ensure employees follow company and client procedures.
  • Handle operational issues and take appropriate action when required.

2.2 Manpower & Attendance Management

  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and shift schedules.
  • Coordinate replacements in case of absenteeism or manpower shortages.
  • Maintain proper shift-wise manpower records.
  • Monitor employee performance and discipline.
  • Report repeated absenteeism, late coming, or misconduct to HR/management.

2.3 Client Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for night-shift operational matters.
  • Maintain professional communication with Foxconn representatives.
  • Attend to client concerns and coordinate for timely resolution.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior management without delay.

2.4 Safety & Discipline

  • Ensure employees follow all applicable safety and workplace rules.
  • Monitor compliance with site security and operational procedures.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, safety concerns, or emergencies.
  • Maintain discipline and professional conduct among employees.

2.5 Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily night-shift reports.
  • Maintain attendance, manpower, incident, and operational records.
  • Report important issues and shift updates to the reporting manager.
  • Ensure proper handover to the morning/day-shift team.

3. Required Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-management ability.
  • Ability to handle employees and resolve workplace issues.
  • Good coordination and reporting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, WhatsApp, and email.
  • Ability to work independently during night hours.

4. Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum 12th Pass / Graduate preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in operations, manpower management, facility management, security supervision, production support, or a similar role preferred.
  • Candidates with strong supervisory skills and relevant site experience may also be considered.

5. Working Conditions

  • Location: Foxconn, Chennai
  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Candidate must be comfortable working during night hours.
  • The role requires regular coordination with employees, supervisors, and client representatives.
