National Head – Member Relations
## About the Organization RAI is a Section 8 not-for-profit organization established by retailers to represent and strengthen the interests of modern retail in India. The National Head – Member Relations will serve as the senior leader responsible for deepening member engagement, strengthening institutional relationships, and advancing membership growth across the country. ## Role Mandate This role is designed for a seasoned relationship leader who can engage credibly with senior industry stakeholders, build long-term strategic partnerships, and translate member needs into high-value engagement for the association. The mandate combines membership retention, new member acquisition, national team leadership, and cross-functional coordination to ensure members experience consistent value from RAI’s initiatives. ## Key Responsibilities - Lead the national member relations agenda and act as the primary relationship owner for RAI’s member community across India. - Build and nurture trusted relationships with senior leaders and key decision-makers within member organizations. - Drive membership retention and growth through well-defined engagement strategies, targeted outreach, and value-led relationship management. - Identify and pursue prospective members across existing markets while expanding into new sectors and geographies with relevant potential. - Lead, coach, and performance-manage a geographically distributed team against clearly defined goals and membership targets. - Track performance metrics, review outcomes regularly, and recommend strategic or operational improvements where required. - Partner closely with Marketing, Retail Learning, and Advocacy teams to ensure that member-facing initiatives are communicated effectively and delivered in a coordinated manner. - Foster a collaborative environment with senior industry stakeholders to support participation, alignment, and long-term association value creation. ## Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while leading high-performing teams in a dynamic, member-centric environment. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and strong interpersonal credibility. ## Preferred Qualifications - Proven leadership experience in national sales, business development, key account management, member relations, or a comparable senior-facing role. - Demonstrated success in managing and motivating high-performance teams across multiple locations. - Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools. - Ability to interpret performance data and convert insights into actionable plans. - Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills. - Strong problem-solving orientation with a service-led and relationship-driven mindset. - Willingness to travel extensively, as required by the role. - MBA in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred. ## Compensation Compensation will be aligned with the candidate’s experience, capabilities, and overall fit for the role.
