Job Description – Lab Helper – Concrete/RMC Plant

Job Title: Lab Helper

Department: Quality Control / Laboratory

Location: Concrete/RMC Plant

Reporting To: Lab Technician / QC Engineer

Job Summary The Lab Helper will assist the QC Engineer and Lab Technician in carrying out routine quality testing of concrete and raw materials. The role also involves sample collection, equipment cleaning, housekeeping, and maintaining the laboratory in a safe and organized condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lab Technician/QC Engineer in collecting samples of concrete and raw materials.
  • Assist in conducting routine concrete tests under supervision.
  • Help with slump testing and preparation of concrete cube samples.
  • Assist in collecting and handling cement, sand, aggregate, and other material samples.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and testing areas.
  • Arrange and store concrete cubes and samples properly.
  • Assist in shifting and labeling samples as instructed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the laboratory.
  • Support the QC team in maintaining test records and registers.
  • Inform the Lab Technician/QC Engineer about any damaged equipment or abnormal test observations.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and use required PPE.
  • Assist in other quality-control activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification
  • 8th / 10th / 12th Pass preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of reading and writing is required.
Experience
  • 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory, construction site, RMC plant, or similar industry preferred.
  • Freshers can also be considered.
Required Skills
  • Physically fit and able to handle samples and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Responsible, punctual, and disciplined.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and at plant sites.
  • Team-oriented and hardworking.
