KiCad PCB Design Task Specialist

The work

You will create realistic computer-based electronics tasks for AI training. Each task should reflect practical engineering, prototyping, repair, or hardware-development work and include clear instructions and supporting files.

You will also record yourself completing each KiCad workflow and review the recording and documentation before submitting it. The final submission must be complete, understandable, realistic, and technically accurate.

  • Create challenging KiCad tasks with clear context, goals, circuit details, project files, component notes, and references.
  • Prepare the work environment with KiCad, project files, component libraries, schematic references, and other required assets.
  • Demonstrate schematic capture, component placement, footprint assignment, PCB routing, layer management, and project organization.
  • Use ERC and DRC checks, edit symbols or footprints, generate Gerber and drill files, and troubleshoot design issues.
  • Record the workflow on your computer and present the process clearly and accurately.
  • Check each recording and its documentation for completeness, clarity, realism, and technical accuracy.

What it pays and takes

This is remote, part-time contractor work with a commitment of at least 20 hours per week. The role is listed as entry level, but you must have hands-on KiCad experience and be able to follow detailed project guidelines independently.

  • Work type: Remote, part-time contract work.
  • Time: 20 or more hours per week.
  • Location: Applicants must be based in Bangladesh, India, or Pakistan.
  • Language: English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Required: Experience with KiCad schematic design, PCB layout, footprints, routing, design-rule checks, Gerber export, or related electronics workflows.
  • Required: Understanding of symbols, nets, layers, vias, zones, libraries, ERC and DRC checks, and fabrication outputs.
  • Required: Ability to manage project files, navigate engineering software, prepare reproducible starting states, and record computer workflows.
  • Required: Careful attention to detail, reliable self-direction, and consistent use of detailed project guidelines.
  • Helpful background: Electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, hardware prototyping, CAD, or technical documentation.
