Indian Chartered Accountant Needed to Validate Accounting and Compliance Software

The software has undergone extensive engineering testing, but it has not yet been comprehensively validated by practicing Chartered Accountants. I am looking for experienced CAs who can help determine whether the calculations, terminology, workflows, and outputs are correct and practical.

This is not a request for a testimonial or endorsement. I want candid professional criticism and expect the product to contain mistakes, missing cases, and workflow assumptions that need to be corrected.

You will work directly with me, the founder, over approximately 4–6 weeks.

We will begin entirely with synthetic businesses, transactions, documents, and tax scenarios. You will not be asked to provide client data, portal credentials, or personally identifiable information. No live statutory filing will be performed during the initial engagement.

~~~
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Reviewing the product as both a CA firm and an operator managing client work.
2. Testing accounting and compliance workflows using synthetic test cases.
3. Checking calculations, accounting treatment, statutory logic, terminology, reports, and generated outputs.
4. Identifying incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or impractical behavior.
5. Comparing the implemented workflows with how work is actually performed in a CA practice.
6. Identifying important cases, exceptions, and business types that the test data does not cover.
7. Suggesting improvements to navigation, terminology, controls, review steps, and practitioner usability.
8. Helping create additional synthetic test cases where necessary.
9. Re-testing important corrections after they have been implemented.
10. Participating in a short weekly video call to review findings and priorities.
Required qualifications:
* Qualified Chartered Accountant in India
* Current or recent hands-on experience serving Indian SMEs
* Strong practical knowledge in at least three of the following:
* Bookkeeping and finalization of accounts
* GST compliance and reconciliation
* TDS/TCS
* Income tax for proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, or companies
* Payroll-related compliance
* Tax audit or statutory audit preparation
* ROC/MCA compliance
* Comfortable testing unfamiliar software and documenting problems precisely
* Able to distinguish statutory correctness from personal workflow preference
* Willing to provide direct and critical feedback
* Able to communicate clearly in written English and video calls
Please highlight if you have experience with:
* Small or mid-sized CA practices
* Managing recurring work across multiple clients
* Tally, Zoho Books, ClearTax, Winman, CompuTax, Genius, or similar products
* Reviewing or implementing accounting software
* Software QA, user-acceptance testing, or structured test cases
* Technology consulting for CA firms
* GST reconciliation, TDS returns, ITR preparation, or finalization at meaningful volume
You do not need to be an expert in every area. I intend to hire more than one CA with complementary expertise. Please be candid about the areas you can validate deeply and those that should be reviewed by another specialist.
~~~

Working arrangement:

* Expected duration: approximately 4–6 weeks

* Expected commitment: approximately 5–8 hours per week

* Contract type: hourly, with an agreed weekly limit

* Initial step: paid 2-hour trial assignment using synthetic data

* Meetings: one scheduled video call per week, with asynchronous testing and written feedback between calls

* Access: private test environment

* Confidentiality: shortlisted candidates may be asked to sign a reasonable NDA before receiving detailed product access

This may develop into a longer advisory or product-validation engagement if there is a strong fit.
