About Us:

Peblo is an AI-powered learning app for Indian children in Classes 1-5 (ages 6-10), featuring five core product modes:

Peblo TV: Animated shows streamed with signed URLs and DRM protection.
Peblo Learn: Curriculum video reels + Unity WebGL interactive games.
Peblo Quiz: Adaptive questioning engine with 56 question templates.
Peblo News: Kid-safe daily news articles paired with voice narration.
AI Buddy: Spoken-English voice tutor + AI bedtime stories.

We are funded and launching imminently. The product is substantially built this role is about completing the platform, making it production-ready, and enabling a non-technical content team to operate independently without engineering intervention.

Your Tech Stack:

Backend: Python 3, FastAPI, PostgreSQL (Supabase), Redis, ARQ workers, Pydantic.
CMS: React 18 + TypeScript, Vite, TanStack Query, React Hook Form + Zod, Tailwind CSS, Recharts.
Platform & DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Run (migrating from Azure Container Apps), Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, Workload Identity Federation, Sentry, OpenTelemetry.
Third-Party Services: Cloudflare R2 + Stream, Gemini, ElevenLabs, VdoCipher.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Core APIs: Build and extend FastAPI services across all five product modes content catalogues, quiz/question pipelines, publishing jobs, entitlements, and webhooks.
2. Internal CMS: Own and enhance our internal admin portal used by the content team. Complete unfinished modules, including User Access Controls, Audit Logging, Feature Flags, and a Daily Quiz Scheduling Calendar.
3. Cloud Migration & Pipelines: Complete our Azure Container Apps GCP Cloud Run migration and implement a robust staging-to-production pipeline with approval gates, blue-green deployment, and automated rollbacks.
4. Content Operations Tooling: Build automated publishing tools, pre-publish JSON catalogues to the CDN, enforce media upload validations, track asset gaps, and manage dynamic feature flags.
5. Platform Capabilities: Implement Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notifications and design an analytics/event pipeline with real-time operational dashboards.
6. Hardening & Compliance: Finalize Google Play billing and subscription webhook handlers. Enforce rate limiting, observability, automated database backups, and DPDP child data-deletion compliance.

Other Requirements:

  1. Candidates will stand out if they have experience in:
  2. 1. GCP services such as Cloud Run, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, and Workload Identity Federation.
  3. 2. Async workers and queues such as ARQ, Celery, or RQ.
  4. 3. Media and streaming workflows, including Cloudflare Stream, HLS, signed URLs, and DRM such as VdoCipher.
  5. 4. Third-party systems, including payment gateways, Google Play Billing webhooks, and FCM push notifications.

  7. Must Have:
  8. 1. 4+ years of production software engineering experience, with strong Python expertise and working knowledge of React/TypeScript.
  9. 2. Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and zero-downtime migrations.
  10. 3. Docker and production experience deploying containerized microservices on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  11. 4. Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions.
  12. 5. Ability to debug and refactor existing codebases.
  13. Nice to Have:
  14. 1. Supabase experience.
  15. 2. CDN and object storage knowledge, such as Cloudflare R2/S3.
  16. 3. Video streaming and DRM experience.
  17. This is not a mobile development role. You will define and document REST/gRPC APIs for our Flutter application rather than build mobile UI.
