Introduction: We are looking for a highly motivated and technically inclined intern to join our Cyber Defense and Security team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in enterprise-level security operations, including vulnerability management, audit log analysis, incident response, and account monitoring. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to real-world defense initiatives.

Your Job: 1.

Continuous Vulnerability Assessment

Assist in scanning and identifying vulnerabilities across enterprise systems using tools such as Qualys , Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Analyze scan results, validate findings, and support remediation tracking. Collaborate with system owners and patch management teams to ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities. Document recurring issues and contribute to improving scanning and reporting processes.

  • Maintenance, Monitoring, and Analysis of Audit Logs Monitor and analyze logs from various sources (e.g., Windows Event Logs, Linux syslogs, firewall logs, application logs). Use SIEM platforms (e.g.

Sentinel) to detect anomalies, unauthorized access attempts, and policy violations. Assist in tuning log sources and correlation rules to improve detection accuracy. Support compliance and audit readiness by maintaining log retention and integrity. 3.

Incident

Response and Management Participate in the triage and investigation of security incidents under the guidance of senior analysts. Document incident timelines, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and response actions. Assist in containment, eradication, and recovery efforts during security events. Contribute to post-incident reviews and lessons learned documentation. 4.

Account

Monitoring and Control Monitor user account activities for suspicious behavior or policy violations. Assist in periodic access reviews and privilege audits. Help identify orphaned, inactive, or misconfigured accounts and coordinate remediation.

Required Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Information Security , or a related field from 2026 / 2027. Strong foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, networking, and operating systems. Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM , vulnerability scanners , and endpoint protection platforms .

Understanding of log formats, authentication mechanisms, and basic scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, SQL). Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Effective communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.
