Role Description The Business Head – PSU and Defence PSU Sales is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi, responsible for leading sales and business development activities with Public Sector Undertakings and Defence PSUs. The role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and building long-term strategic relationships with senior stakeholders in government and defense organizations.

Responsibilities include developing and executing sales plans, overseeing bid and proposal processes, coordinating with technical teams to align solutions with client requirements, and ensuring timely contract negotiations and closures.

The Business

Head will monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy developments to refine go-to-market strategies and revenue forecasts. This position also requires mentoring the sales team, setting performance targets, and collaborating with leadership to drive sustainable growth in the defense and space technology portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in institutional sales, business development, and account management, preferably with PSUs, Defence PSUs, or government clients.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting for complex, long-cycle defense or technology projects.
  • Knowledge of defense procurement processes, government tendering, contract management, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers and cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership experience in building, guiding, and evaluating sales or business development teams, with a focus on performance and collaboration.
  • Background in defense technology, aerospace, electronics, or related engineering domains is highly beneficial; ability to understand technical solutions and translate them into business value.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, adaptability, and resilience, with readiness to travel as needed for client meetings, reviews, and industry events.
