SGT University (NAAC A+) is in search of talented Faculty Members with good research orientation & publications for its campus. The position is for Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor (Research Track) / Visiting Faculty in the field of Product Design/ Design.The University, in its campus spread over 70 acres near Gurgaon, offers around 200+ programme in Medical and Non-Medical domains. It nurtures over seven thousand students and serves as a vibrant hub for activities involving the nation's most distinguished University. It is a part of a group spanning the fields of education and hospitality. The University employs close to three thousand people. The campus has accommodation for employees and hostels for students and offers excellent support facilities such as shopping complex, medical facilities, sports, entertainment, and transportation. The campus is located less than 5 km from the Delhi border of Daurala and offers convenient access to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

Skill set:

Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design, Product Development Process, Ergonomics, Materials & Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, Prototyping, and Design for Sustainability.

Software:

SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Key Shot, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite

Knowledge of 3D printing, CNC machining, digital fabrication, IoT, AI-assisted design, AR/VR, and emerging technologies.

Desired Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Product Design/Industrial Design or an allied field from a recognised university/institute.
  • Ph.D. in Design or a relevant discipline is preferred (or as per UGC/University norms).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of teaching, industry, or combined academic-professional experience, with leadership experience preferred.

Assistant Professor/Associate Professor- Research Track

Skill set:

Research methodology, experimental design, statistical analysis, design innovation, and interdisciplinary research.

Knowledge of AI-assisted design, digital manufacturing, sustainability, smart products, advanced materials, UX/UI, IoT, AR/VR, and emerging design technologies.

Desired Qualification

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Communication Design, Interior/Furniture Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline from recognised institutions.
  • Ph.D. in Design or a relevant discipline from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of teaching, research, or industry experience, with a strong emphasis on research excellence.
  • Demonstrated record of high-quality publications in Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.
  • Proven experience in obtaining and successfully executing funded research projects.
  • Established records of patents, design registrations, consultancy, or technology commercialisation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in supervising Ph.D. scholars and postgraduate research is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Product Design and Design.
  • Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials.
  • Conduct design studios, workshops, labs, and project-based learning.
  • Mentor and Guide Ph.D., M. Des., and undergraduate research projects.
  • Supervise capstone projects, dissertations, and research activities.
  • Coordinate programme planning, timetables, assessments, and quality assurance.
  • Facilitate industry collaborations, live projects, guest lectures, and design exhibitions.
  • Publish research papers in high quality indexed journals, patents, and secure funded research projects.
  • Organise conferences, seminars, FDPs, and outreach activities.
  • Participate in admissions, student counselling, academic administration, and committee work.
  • Contribute to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, QS/THE rankings, and other institutional quality initiatives. Perform additional academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Dean/University.
  • Support consultancy, incubation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up ecosystem development
