Area Manager - Amazon Now Operations
The Area Manager will oversee an important part of Amazon Now a fast-delivery service designed to serve customers through efficient store operations and responsive logistics execution The position combines people leadership performance management process improvement and collaboration with third-party store operations The manager will lead a diverse team across shifts maintain service levels during changing demand and ensure operational decisions support safety productivity quality and customer expectations The role also requires close coordination with other managers and cross-functional teams to standardize working methods and resolve operational challenges quickly Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily Amazon Now operations across the assigned area and maintain consistent execution throughout all shifts Promote a strong culture of workplace safety wellbeing and operational discipline Monitor quality productivity service level agreements and other key performance indicators Analyze performance gaps and implement corrective actions to restore or improve operational results Lead coach and support frontline employees while building a productive and accountable team culture Manage administrative responsibilities associated with staffing performance operations and shift execution Review workload operating conditions and team performance to ensure the area remains aligned with business objectives Identify root causes behind recurring operational problems and introduce practical corrective measures Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and customer satisfaction Collaborate with other Area Managers and operational leaders to standardize shift processes and working practices Support third-party store operations and ensure partners work in line with required service and operational standards Balance short-term operational requirements with longer-term improvement priorities Partner effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at different organizational levels Coach junior employees and support the development of future operations leaders Deliver projects and operational assignments independently while maintaining deadlines and quality expectations Respond quickly to urgent operational situations and make sound decisions with limited guidance when necessary Support process improvement initiatives using Lean Kaizen Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement principles Manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment without losing focus on customer experience or operational performance Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants with at least two years of Amazon full-time employee experience may also meet the core experience requirement. A bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain, business, or a related field is particularly relevant for this position. The role requires experience working effectively across different teams and organizational levels, including coaching junior employees and influencing stakeholders to achieve operational outcomes. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving ability, root cause analysis skills, and confidence working independently in a fast-paced environment. The ability to complete complex tasks quickly, respond appropriately to urgent situations, and maintain deadlines across multiple assignments is important. Experience using performance metrics, process improvement methodologies, or Lean techniques is preferred. Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma concepts will be valuable.
