Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise (London, Visa Sponsorship Available)

Anthropic is hiring an Applied AI Engineer for its Enterprise team in London, UK. In this role you act as the Claude Platform specialist and trusted technical advisor, guiding some of the UK's largest businesses to the frontier of AI and helping them deploy Claude into their operations. You partner with Account Executives and AI Architects from the first conversation through technical evaluation, proof of value and procurement, working with both engineering teams and C-level executives on multi-quarter engagements. The listed salary is 225,000 to 255,000 GBP per year (OTE including commissions and bonuses). Anthropic states directly on the listing that it sponsors visas: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. The role is hybrid; Anthropic expects staff to be in one of its offices at least 25 percent of the time.

Responsibilities

Partner with Account Executives and AI Architects through the full customer journey, from first conversation through technical evaluation, proof of value and procurement. Lead technical evaluation and remain the customer's advisor throughout Claude deployment. Help engineering teams understand Claude architectures, agent design and evaluation. Build business cases for executives that link technical capabilities to measurable outcomes such as cost, revenue, risk and time to market. Navigate enterprise security, compliance, data residency and governance requirements. Travel to UK customer sites and feed insights back to Product and Engineering teams.

Requirements

6 or more years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect or technical founder. Pre-sales or technical advisory experience selling into large enterprises, ideally in the UK. Experience with value-based selling and presenting a business case to C-level and VP-level stakeholders. Production experience with LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures and evaluation frameworks. Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance, ideally in regulated sectors. Ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to technical and executive audiences. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Ability to be in the London office at least 25 percent of the time.
