About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers discover projects, build a unified portfolio of AI training work, and grow long-term freelance careers focused on the human tasks that teach AI systems.
OpenTrain is the hiring organization for this role and manages contracting, payments, and project coordination for contributors.
About AI training and this role
AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human side of building artificial intelligence: people prepare, review, and rate examples that modern models learn from. This role uses real-world software engineering reviews so models can learn from structured human expertise and clear written feedback.
Work in AI training is largely remote and flexible, making it an excellent option for developers who want part-time contractor work that fits around other commitments while staying on the cutting edge of how AI systems are built.
The role
You will perform detailed reviews of Angular front-end code and related engineering tasks, producing clear, consistent written feedback that helps AI systems understand best practices, maintainability, and implementation trade-offs.
This listing is classified as entry level on the platform, but the role requires strong real-world Angular front-end experience and expert knowledge of RxJS and SCSS/SASS.
What you'll do
You will evaluate submitted code and documentation, score or rate implementations, and write concise guidance that highlights strengths, bugs, scalability issues, and better patterns. Work is repeated and structured to create training data for models, so attention to consistency is important.
- Review Angular front-end code for correctness, architecture, and style.
- Assess code quality, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Provide clear, constructive written feedback suitable for training models.
- Document findings consistently across repeated review tasks and ratings.
Requirements
To succeed in this role you must be able to work independently in a remote, asynchronous contractor setup and communicate feedback clearly in English.
- Strong hands-on experience with Angular front-end development.
- Expert knowledge of RxJS for reactive programming and state management.
- Deep SCSS/SASS skills for maintainable, scalable styling.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to work independently and follow structured review guidelines.
Schedule, pay, and logistics
This is contractor, part-time, asynchronous work you can do remotely from anywhere. The role expects 20+ hours per week.
Pay range: $30–$90 per hour (USD). OpenTrain manages contracting and payments for contributors.
Who should apply and how it works
Apply if you have strong practical experience building and reviewing Angular apps, expert RxJS skills, and SCSS/SASS proficiency. Prior AI training or labeling experience is not required; what matters most is your real-world front-end expertise and ability to write clear feedback.
After you apply, you may complete qualification tasks that demonstrate your review skills. Successful contributors are given ongoing review tasks that feed model training datasets and earn pay per hour as a contractor with flexible scheduling.
