You’ll become involved in planning, reporting, analyses, and initiatives that will impact important decisions around the growth and development of Verizon's business. In our department, you will:

  • Build and Maintain Intelligent Workflows: Identify bottlenecks in traditional FP&A processes (like month-end close or manual data consolidation) and support the implementation of automations and AI solutions.
  • AI-Enhanced Data Storytelling: Transform complex, multi-layered datasets into clear, actionable intelligence using data visualization tools and AI-generated insights.
  • Connect Finance and Technology: Help bridge the gap between traditional FP&A and data science teams, assisting in data preparation so AI algorithms are trained with deep financial context.
  • Prompt Engineering for Finance: Utilize generative AI tools to rapidly synthesize financial data, draft preliminary variance narratives, and accelerate the reporting cycle.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial planning, reporting & analyses for the business.
  • Support Decision-Making: Provide reliable data support and analytical guidance to FP&A Business Partners.
  • Data-Driven Value Creation: Move beyond retrospective reporting to assist in forward-looking planning, utilizing AI-driven scenario models to support executive decision-making.
  • Actively participate in the cultural and professional development of Corporate FP&A as a world-class organization through Mentor/Mentee relationships and various activities offered.

As part of the Corporate FP&A team, you will be helping the reporting and accounting teams deliver world-class, zero-touch automated solutions for all Verizon entities. You will interact with finance teams across the business, helping bring new automated and AI-driven solutions to life for our month-end financial close and reporting activities.

Reporting, Automation & Data Visualization:

  • Develop end-to-end automated solutions for our stakeholders to support Finance Business Units (BUs) and drive efficiencies.
  • Build and design data visualizations of financial statements for different organizations across Verizon.
  • Assist in preparation of C-Suite Executive reporting with 100% quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain Qlik/ Looker Applications in production environments and resolve any production issues with existing applications.
  • Document processes to ensure accuracy across the enterprise and maintain strict change control.

AI & Analytics Systems Development:

  • Develop and test AI solutions that interact with development tools, codebases, and team workflows.
  • Work with LLM APIs (Claude, Gemini, Codex, and others) to understand their capabilities, limitations, and practical application for financial automation.
  • Support the end-user experience of agentic interactions—ensuring complex AI capabilities feel natural and trustworthy for finance teams.
  • Contribute to technical discussions regarding agent patterns, model selection, and integration approaches.

What we’re looking for…

You are a strong collaborator who can effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt during pressured situations. You display initiative and resourcefulness but are also comfortable brainstorming and sharing ideas in a team environment. You possess excellent communication skills and can partner effectively across multiple business and finance teams. You are adaptable to change, meet tight deadlines, and are strongly focused on the quality of your deliverables.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of work experience in financial report automations, business intelligence, or data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience or strong academic exposure to building/utilizing AI tools, prompts, or workflows.
  • Understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations across multiple models (Claude, Gemini, Codex, etc.).
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and working with tool-use/function calling.
  • Ability to mine, extract, transform, and load large financial datasets to create automated reports.
  • Working knowledge of report automation tools, technologies, and end-to-end ETL processes (e.g., Knime Analytics Platform, Alteryx).
  • Experience with Qlik Sense, Looker, or similar visualization tools.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and database queries.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with Python or Google App Scripting for modern data and AI workflows.
  • Experience with Essbase and SQL performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for agentic systems.
  • Vizlib and NPrinting experience in Qlik Sense.
  • Exposure to GCP Big Query or Teradata databases.
  • A proven ability to derive insights from data and recommend actionable business strategies.
